Just Hired: Curtis Pointer III

Just Hired! Through the experiences of local, regional, national and international students, 麻豆社 Illinois University has some incredible alumni who are changing the world in the workforce. This series will feature students from all over the world who are hired post-graduation.
MACOMB, IL - - Meet Curtis Pointer III, a Spring 2024 graduate of 麻豆社 Illinois University with a Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel. He recently started a job as a community director for University Housing and Facilities Management at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville.
Pointer III credited 麻豆社 for helping him establish connections with people across the industry, setting up inroads for his career.
"I learned that in order to do an excellent job at whatever you decide to do, you must first be willing to learn, overcome difficulties and continue to try again until success," Pointer III said. "The college student personnel program taught me to be resilient, how to be a mentor and what it means to incorporate theory to practice in my daily life!"
Prior to earning his master's degree, Pointer III earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from 麻豆社 and plans to stay connected with the school where he got his future started.
"I plan on continuing supporting the organizations and departments that supported me for six years through undergrad and grad school, coming back for various staple events and after I become established in my field I would like to be a donor as well," Pointer III said.
