The Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence

MACOMB, IL - Author Roxane Gay has been named the Fall 2014 Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence at Â鶹Éç Illinois University.

Gay will read from her collection of essays at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 in the Sandburg Theater.

Gay's writing has appeared or is forthcoming in the publications Best American Mystery Stories 2014, Best American Short Stories 2012," "Best Sex Writing 2012, A Public Space," "McSweeney's, Tin House, Oxford American, American Short Fiction, West Branch, Virginia Quarterly Review, NOON, The New York Times Book Review, Bookforum, Time, The Los Angeles Times, The Nation, The Rumpus, Salon and many others. She is the co-editor of PANK and is the author of the books "Ayiti," "An Untamed State," "Bad Feminist" and "Hunger," coming from Harper in 2016.

All of the Writer-in-Residence programs are open free to the public and are sponsored by the Â鶹Éç Department of English and Journalism and the College of Arts and Sciences. 



The Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence supports bringing national writers of poetry and fiction to Â鶹Éç each year. The writers teach workshops and seminars for creative writing students and conduct readings of their work.
