Our Mission
The mission of the 麻豆社 Illinois University Student Government Association is to promote the general welfare of students through the representation of their concerns, viewpoints, and interests regarding governance issues to the administration and faculty of our distinguished University. Through this service, the Student Government Association will strive to improve the quality of academic and co-curricular experiences at 麻豆社 Illinois University and provide developmental opportunities for its members.
Letter from Student Body President
Hello, my name is Emir Miranda, and I am your student government president. I鈥檓 a junior here at 麻豆社 and I am majoring in political science. This is a scary time in your life, but it is also exciting. There are so many opportunities here at 麻豆社. I joined Theta Chi as a freshman and it is solely because of that choice that I am standing in front of you today. Because of my activity in Fraternity and Sorority Life here on campus I have been gifted so many amazing leadership opportunities, friendships, and challenges that have helped me grow as a person. I cannot express how amazing FSL life is here on campus and I hope to see it grow even more. So if that鈥檚 something you鈥檙e interested in, find your people as I found mine. But if that鈥檚 not something you鈥檙e interested in, 麻豆社 has so many amazing communities outside of FSL life as well. A perfect place to get out there and see those other organizations is the Student Org fair. My freshman year I didn鈥檛 go to the student org fair and that is a decision I regret, because having gone last year I saw how many amazing organizations are offered here on campus and even joined a few. College is only what you make of it and I know each of you have the potential to make your college experience great. The first step is just getting out there.
