Updates on unexpected interruptions or outages will be posted below. Note that STARS and Â鶹ÉçP are offline for maintenance every night from midnight to 3:00 a.m, and some Sundays between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Other systems may be offline between 9:00 p.m. Friday and 6:00 a.m. Saturday for scheduled server maintenance. Routine maintenance outside of these windows are posted to our and feeds.

Disruption Resolution - Campus phone systems restored (11:47am)

The issues impacting incoming and outgoing calls to campus phone systems have been resolved. If you notice any lingering issues, please bring them to our attention by emailing support@wiu.edu.

  • Impact: Users of campus phone systems should now be able to place/receive phone calls as expected.

Disruption Update - Campus phone issues (9:31am)

We are aware that some users may be unable to place outgoing long distance calls. McDonough Telephone and Verizon are continuing to troubleshoot these issues.

  • Impact: Individuals calling campus from certain cell phone carriers may receive a "call cannot be completed" message; additionally, some users may be unable to place outgoing long distance calls from campus phones.

Disruption Notice - Issue with phones calls to campus (2:13pm)

We are aware that some cell phone carriers are having issues placing/receiving calls from campus phone systems. We are aware and have notified McDonough Telephone who is investigating.

Disruption Update - Update on ongoing QWS3270 issues (9:18am)

We are experiencing intermittent issues with the QWS3270 application on Windows devices this week. At times, some users have been unable to launch the application due to a licensing error. We have contacted the software vendor, who is actively troubleshooting the issue.

Additionally, the vendor has recommended updating the QWS3270 software on all campus desktops. This update will be deployed this afternoon behind the scenes and should not cause any interruptions.

Disruption Resolution - Network connectivity issues resolved (12:49pm)

We are currently experiencing connectivity issues related to network maintenance performed on Friday evening. You may notice inconsistent connectivity or extreme slowness accessing network-based resources (including printers). Technicians are analyzing the situation and working on a solution.
