Law Enforcement and Justice Administration

The optional LEJA pre-internship informational meeting for Summer/Fall 2025 and beyond is tentatively set for October 16th, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. via Zoom. A formal invite and link will be provided through email. Attendance at pre-internship meetings is not required. Those meetings are for informational purposes only and usually do not last longer than 45 minutes听to an hour (opportunity for questions and answers). Pre-internship meetings provide an opportunity for students (future interns) to learn about the internship process and procedures.听 Federal internships will also be discussed.

Mandatory Internship Meetings for Summer / Fall 2025 LEJA/Fire/EM Interns

Meeting Dates

    • Tuesday,听January 14, 2025 - 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

    • Wednesday,听January 15, 2024 - 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
      meeting will be via zoom with link coming via email

NOTE:听听 Both meetings will contain the same information, so only one of the two meetings is required of you. Failure to attend one of these mandatory meetings could result in the student not being allowed to complete a Summer / Fall 2024 internship (unless permission was obtained from the LEJA Internship Coordinator prior to the scheduled meetings).

You will be on your own to obtain 4 passport port size photos to put on your applications and file. These should be professional pictures, color, from the waist up, so dress appropriately.听 The photos will be turned in to me when you turn in your required documents.听 麻豆社 audio visual (Memorial Hall 401) may be able to take the photos for you (COST $10, four color photographs;听 one high resolution digital image and (4) printed 2"x2" copies).听 麻豆社 Audio Visual 听will be providing this service on Mondays and Tuesdays this semester by appointment only. Appointments听can be scheduled online at the link below. The cost for this is $10.00 and that includes听one high resolution digital image and (4) printed 2"x2" copies. Please feel free to share this with your students and let me know if you have any additional questions.听

NOTE: Potential federal interns (i.e., U.S. Secret Service Interns, ATF Interns, U.S. Marshals, and Customs Interns) and Illinois State Police Interns, see the LEJA Internship Coordinator (Stipes 403) immediately for application information.

  • Illinois State Police internship applications must be received in Springfield
    by September 30 for spring internships, January 31 for summer internships, and April 30 for fall internships
  • Federal applications are usually submitted by June for spring consideration (six months prior)
