Â鶹Éç HR Student Gains Valuable Experience at SHRM Annual Conference and Expo

MACOMB, IL – Vy Le, an undergraduate student from Â鶹Éç Illinois University's Human Resource Program, recently attended the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Annual Conference and Expo held in Chicago, IL.
The conference provided attendees the opportunity to hear from industry-leading speakers and participate in sessions covering the latest trends in the ever-evolving HR landscape, including talent acquisition, mental health, empathetic leadership, employee engagement, HR technology and more.
"I was able to meet a lot of HR professionals and vendors, including vendors used at Ascentra Credit Union where I am currently an intern in the HR department. I also met the team from MRA and answered a few HR questions on their podcast! This was a great experience - putting yourself out there is important. This conference opened a lot of doors for me. I'm even more eager now to enter the professional HR world!," Le said.
Â鶹Éç's HRM program offers an award-winning student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and a SHRM-aligned curriculum that prepares students for professional certification. Students gain hands-on experience with local organizations, equipping them with industry-recognized skills. The university provides extensive networking opportunities through study abroad programs, professional development events, career fairs and internships. An integrated program allows students to earn both a bachelor's degree and an MBA in just five years.
